TikTok Ban Latest Update: China's social networking site TikTok is banned in India as well as America, because America wants a new owner of TikTok's parent company, ByteDance. They have offered ByteDance to sell its stake and have given time for the fourth time to accept this offer. They have said that until the Chinese owners of ByteDance separate from TikTok, TikTok will remain banned in America. They have given ByteDance time till September to find a new owner.

Many people want to buy ByteDance

Let us tell you that President Trump had first extended the deadline to ban TikTok in January, then in April and June. Now once again the ban has been extended till September. He says that he has many buyers who want to buy ByteDance, but it is not expected that China will agree to sell its stake in ByteDance even by September 17. Although he has not talked to Chinese President Xi Jinping about TikTok, when the right time comes, he will definitely talk so that he can sell ByteDance to someone else.

America is afraid of this from TikTok

Let us tell you that TikTok has been banned in the US for national security and data privacy. TikTok's parent company is ByteDance, which is a Chinese company. The US fears that China's Xi Jinping government can access the data of more than 170 million American users through TikTok because the National Security Law (2017) is in force in China. According to this law, Chinese companies have been ordered to share users' data with the government.

The Joe Biden government had made a law

The US intelligence agency says that the Chinese government can use the data of American users to spy on, blackmail, or monitor America. Therefore, during the tenure of Joe Biden, the US Congress enacted the Protecting Americans from Foreign Adversary Controlled Applications Act (PAFACA) in April 2024. Under this act, ByteDance was ordered to sell TikTok to the US by January 19, 2025.

Threat to remove TikTok from app stores

ByteDance did not comply with the order, and TikTok is still banned in the US. Now President Trump has said that ByteDance should complete the process of selling TikTok by September 17. If this is not done, TikTok will be completely banned in the US. It will also be removed from mobile app stores. Those who have already downloaded and used the app will not receive further updates. Its use will also be restricted.
